Speaker Information and Documentation

Speaker Credentials and Background

Speakers invited to participate in the European Entrepreneurship and Innovation Thought Leaders (EEITL) program are anticipated to represent the following types of leadership roles in European innovation sector organizations:

  • Dynamic and engaging CXOs or founders of interesting seed- or early-stage technology startup companies
  • Senior executives at major European or US technology corporations of broad interest at Stanford and in Silicon Valley
  • University technology transfer/commercialization office directors
  • University faculty actively engaged in commercialization or spin-out of their ongoing research
  • Senior partners at venture capital firms
  • Angel investors, or leaders of angel investing groups

Additional Requirements

Speaking Ability. Each speaker should possess a strong and clear command of spoken English and, ideally, must possess prior English language public speaking experience, including the ability to handle an open Question-and-Answer session of up to 15-20 minutes following the lecture.

Materials Requested from each Speaker

Stanford requests that each invited speaker please provide us with the following information within 5 days of confirming their participation in our program:

Speaker Biography. Please send us a (maximum) three paragraph professional biography for yourself in either .doc or .pdf format. We will use this on our website along with your photo, as is, without editing. The biography should reference the speaker’s current organization (with HTML links embedded), title, professional background and experience, and, briefly, their academic training. If desired, contact information may be also included. Thank you.

Speaker Photograph. Please send us a high resolution color photo of yourself in either JPEG, GIF or other standard graphics format. We will use this on our website along with your bio. Thank you.

Presentation Slides. If you will be showing presentation slides during your talk (per your discussions with the Program Director), please send us your slides (in .ppt or .pdf format) one week before your lecture. All slides should be in English. The use of graphics (diagrams, simple tables, photographs, etc) is encouraged. Proprietary or confidential information should not be included in the presentation. We will make this slideset available on our website. Thank you.

Stanford Copyright Assignment Form. Each speaker is requested to download, complete, sign and fax this copyright assignment and permission form to Stanford University. Please fax the signed form to Denise Curti, Stanford ME Department, Center for Design Research (CDR) at Fax Number +1-650-725-8475. This fax must be received one week (7 days) before your lecture in order for Stanford to be able to webcast/podcast your lecture, archive the video/audio and slides of your talk on our website, and use photos of your talk in our online groups and homepage.
